ALA was built upon the belief that our planet is in dire need of responsible leadership. Our core principles are humble servitude, integrity, courage, authenticity, and love. It is our commitment to be a part of the solutions that the world needs in order to to function as a whole. We believe that we’re in this - all of it - together. In order for a new paradigm to exist, we must be willing to let go of the limiting beliefs and old ways of thinking to create new possibilities.
We are NOT therapy. We are not a self-help group. We’re a leadership academy and we’re committed to supporting as many leaders as possible fulfill their own, unique dreams so this planet can heal and thrive.
Emotional Intelligence (EQ) is the ability to identify and monitor your own emotions as well as the emotions of others. The five key elements of emotional intelligence are self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy, and social skills. These skills are the foundation for becoming a responsible leader and widely recognized as essential for success from a variety of top organizations, including Harvard. Many place EQ as the top contributing factor to success. Our trainings focus on developing these skills and supporting you in integrating their use in your life and career.
These trainings put you in the training room with powerful facilitators so you can learn through experience. Books, webinars, and other coaching type programs are great for learning and awareness. The difference at ALA is you fully immerse yourself into an experiential environment carefully curated for your growth. Much like the difference between reading a book on how to swim versus actually being in the swimming pool, these trainings set the tone for a powerful process that creates tangible change.
ALA is the result of our co-founders’ vision (heart-centered leadership), plus the community of students have created the energy and heartbeat of ALA. For this reason, there is no other transformational leadership program like ALA.
Responsible leadership is the concept that you have the ability and power to create and change your life, regardless of circumstances. Responsible leaders are integrous, committed, open to feedback, and willing to be lifelong learners
People of all backgrounds, ethnicities, religions, orientations, and life experiences will benefit from these trainings and are welcome at ALA. Our community page [link] highlights our diverse group of students and shares many of their stories. We encourage you to read through their experiences and each training page - discovery, breakthrough, leadership - to see how each specific training can and will directly support you in living your best life.

ALA is home to students from all over the U.S., plus several other countries. Students who want to come in person have the opportunity to come to San Diego, California or Austin, Texas to experience these trainings in this particular environment. We understand that traveling may not be convenient, which is why we offer an online training option! The value of these trainings is priceless in all forms of energy (time and money included). You may think we’re biased, but we’ve had students attend in person and online from as far as the East Coast, Canada, Mexico, Australia, Sweden, and New Zealand.
